Publisher's Description:

Quick Recovery for RAID 5 - A Data Recovery Software - Quick Recovery RAID 5 is a do-it- yourself, non-destructive, simple and easy to use Raid data recovery software, supports IDE, EIDE, SCSI , SATA drives, long file name, having multi-disk and multi-lingual support, simulates previously existing partitions and is read-only i.e. the program will never attempt to write to the drive to recover. Its unique Guided File Excavation Technology (GFETch) helps in locating files and folders lost behind overwritten partitions and even if bad sectors hinder drive access. An exhaustive scan of the drive is performed to locate lost volumes. It recovers data from corrupted RAID configuration, failed/ bad Controller card, damaged/ deleted/ corrupted volumes even from initialized disks, Accidental resetting of array configuration, one damaged/ corrupted disk, damaged/ corrupted data, Not regenerating even after disk replacement, missing/corrupted Operating System or software failure, lost partition, missing drives, FAT/ MFT corruption, Array Format, corrupted partition/ volume, virus attack, and even from crashed drive. It also recovers data if the following situation occurs:

Hardware RAID 5 :
 RAID Controller card has gone bad or the RAID configuration gets corrupted.
 File Deletion.
 Array Format.
 Partition Table related corruption.
 FAT corruption.
 MFT corruption etc.
 One RAID hard disk damaged.
 Not regenerating even after one disk replacement.

Software RAID 5:
 File Deletion.
 Array Format.
 Partition Table related corruption.
 FAT corruption.
 MFT corruption etc.

In Raid recovery the De-Stripper will create Arrangement file from the RAID and the Recovery module will recover the data from the arrangement files. All found data in the lost partition is then presented in a tree structure so that you can copy your lost files to a working volume.

Limited use review

The primary problem I was trying to address was the re-installation of a 3-disk RAID 5 array I had removed from a computer that I fried about a month ago. The disks were unharmed and to my knowledge hadn't been written to. After some trial and error I got them hooked to the motherboard in what I think was the original order, based on the index number identified by the BIOS utility (but I had no idea whether that was necessary). From the BIOS utility and from Windows the drives looked like a one disk RAID 5 array and a separate 2-disk RAID 5 array, neither of which made any sense. I eventually deleted the 1-disk array and indicated to the nVidia WIndows utility that it was the third drive of the remaining 2-drive array, and the utility used it to reconstruct the array. It was then designated as a "foreign" disk in Windows Disk Management, so I "imported" it, guessing that would be an appropriate thing to do with a "foreign" disk. It worked. All files are now accessible and the array works as it had originally.

So, in short, I tested Quick Recovery for Raid 5 - before I tried the above approach - only enough to realize it would require a transfer of all contents to another drive, which may or may not have been possible depending on how much was on the array, which I didn't know and couldn't determine. In the first couple of runs I had no idea of what it was asking for or how to get it to do anything. With some effort I got it to start a scan, but as far as I could tell it was not detecting anything. I then gave up and tried the approach described above, relying on the nVidia software that came with the motherboard.

Sorry my limited use of the program couldn't be more useful in your development of the software. But I am very pleased that I got back the software I thought I had lost, and I'm more inclined than ever to trust RAID 5 with critical software and to set it up on other machines.

Raid5 recovery: doesn`t work

This program seems to be of no use to recover a broken RAID-5 array, it's not even possible to add 2 disks of a 3-disk RAID5 array (because one of the disks is suspected to be damaged), the program give's an error " minimum 3 disk needed in a RAID5 array".
Seems to me they've overlooked the title of their own program...
